BEMER electromagnetic field stimulation supports vital physiological processes and self-regulation mechanisms via the following scientifically demonstrated effects:

  • Effects on microcirculation (capillary blood flow)
  • Effects on the immune system
  • Stabilization of the oxidative balance

A properly functioning cardiovascular system is the prerequisite for health and the ability of each person to function. People are as healthy as their blood vessels.

It is the central task of the cardio-vascular system to supply each individual cell of the organism with nutrients and to remove waste materials as needed. It thus covers the elemental metabolic requirements of every cell. The cardiovascular system supplies the body with oxygen and substrates for metabolism. It also removes carbon dioxide, metabolic products, and metabolic heat. Furthermore, it distributes hormones and enzymes and thus facilitates detailed regulation of cell function.

Human performance and health are based upon the ability of cells to function and upon the performance of organs and organ systems. The essential prerequisites for this are a well performing cardiovascular system with a good blood flow. Through movement (changing energy needs), our organism regulates blood flow.

However, the regularity, duration, and intensity of exercise play an important role. In earlier times, the need to provide food daily involved a good amount of exercise. To find enough food as hunters and gatherers, people had to cover approximately 25 miles a day. The human body is designed for that much movement. On average, people today walk only about a half mile daily. The results are performance drops, premature aging and illness.

The Cologne Declaration of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Council for Sports Medicine (FIMS) of April 9, 1994 states: "A wide variety of international research findings of an epidemiological, clinical, and experimental nature conclude that physical activity extends life expectancy and provides a relative degree of protection against numerous chronic illnesses." Technical development, automation, computers, and television have led overwhelmingly to a sedentary lifestyle. The World Health Organization is already speaking of an epidemic lack of exercise. The cardiovascular system is particularly affected by this epidemic.

There seems to be no way out of this dilemma, because civilized man has neither the time nor the opportunities to get enough exercise. BEMER is the most convenient, time-saving, and affordable way to compensate almost completely for the negative consequences of a lack of exercise. By using BEMER, each person makes a substantial contribution to maintaining his
or her health and ability to perform.

Stated simply, capillary blood flow is regulated essentially by two mechanisms. A decrease in blood flow is achieved via the vegetative nervous system by flexing the muscles of the vascular walls, which decreases the diameter of the vessels. An increase in blood flow is achieved by molecular means via EDRF (endothelium-derived relaxing factor). EDRF is nitrogen monoxide (NO), a gas that relaxes the blood vessels; causing them to expand.

NO is formed in the most delicate blood vessels, depending on the current metabolic situation and oxygen requirements of the tissue. A deterioration of the metabolic situation is usually associated with hyperacidity at the vessel wall. Hyperacidity is marked by an excess of hydrogen ions (positive charges).

Our explanation model assumes that a magnetic field exerts forces upon charges. Due to the magnetic field, charges in the blood are pressed against the vessel wall, so that the body’s own mechanism for promoting blood flow is stimulated.  The improvement in blood flow naturally has physiological limits. Therefore, it makes no sense to press as many charges as possible against the vessel wall. Instead, the goal is to achieve an optimum effect.

With BEMER, this optimum is controlled by the flow density of magnetic field. In this process, the following basic principle applies: The poorer the metabolism, i.e. the greater the level of hyperacidity; the faster this optimum is reached. That means that the optimum is reached with lower flow densities of the magnetic field. The poorer the metabolism; the lower the level and vice versa.

Side effects, or negative effects, cannot occur through the use of the BEMER, because an improvement in blood flow can take place only within physiologically possible limits, and this always has positive effects on the organism. Only the body’s own regulatory mechanism, which can improve blood flow (NO) is addressed. Therefore, deterioration through the magnetic field is not possible. BEMER always has a positive effect.
