The Energetic Wave of the Future

Richard Gerber and Robert Becker’s research and writings on The Body Electric (the title of one of Becker’s books) first grabbed my attention in the early 1990s. Gerber’s Vibrational Medicine was my constant companion for years, as I reread it many times. But there were no practical applications in health care yet for Gerber and Becker’s work.

I was a new doctor in 1989, still choosing techniques to study how best to complement Applied Kinesiology in my practice, and had not yet studied Network Chiropractic and Bio Geometric Integration (BGI). I now consider BGI to be a form of vibrational medicine, and Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique to be a new form of homeopathy, also vibrational medicine. But those discussions are another story.

In January, 2009, a patient introduced me to Bio Electro-Magnetic Energy Regulation (BEMER) and I immediately recognized the work of these two authors. I borrowed a unit for two weeks, and within hours was excited by the results. Over the next few months I purchased one for my mother, one for home and one for my patients at the office. It has been very gratifying to watch all who use it with any regularity improve their vitality. Initially what many of us notice is that mood and energy improve, as the cells receive increased oxygen and nutrients and are cleansed of metabolic waste.

Micro-circulation is the primary scene of action. Picture the blood being pumped from the heart, passing through the lungs, picking up oxygen, and then returning to the heart to be further energized as it is pumped out into the arterial circulation. It travels via ever smaller vessels to the local areas of the body, then into arterial capillaries, the thickness of a hair.

The blood escapes the ends of the capillaries into an interstitial space between the cells. The cell places docking stations called receptor sites on its membrane for each nutrient it needs. When that particular nutrient is in the blood in the interstitial space, it is captured by the receptor site, and the cell takes in the whole complex, using the nutrient and recycling the components of the receptor site. The cell reverses this process to get rid of metabolites of cellular waste products.

The interstitial space contains nutrients, oxygen, garbage and micro-organisms. There are two kinds of capillaries in the micro-circulation to carry away the garbage. The larger vessels are lymphatic capillaries that pick up bacteria, virus, fungus and other parasites, as well as the metabolites that are too large to enter the venous capillaries. The garbage is carried by the lymph and venous blood to organs that cleanse the fluids, primarily the lymph nodes, spleen and liver.

The BEMER has been scientifically documented to improve micro-circulation, enabling the body to better utilize its own natural processes. As a consequence the body increases the absorption of oxygen and nutrients, supports immune system function, and ultimately increases cellular energy and metabolism. This makes us feel good, because we are getting what every cell in the body wants: nutrients, including oxygen, and a clean environment.

Of course we must also eat good food every day and drink plenty of pure water, breathe fresh air and exercise regularly. The BEMER doesn’t replace good health habits. It helps us return to better health sooner and to maintain good health as we age.
